Cooking Setup Video

Good video from Youtube demonstrating a simple, lightweight backpacking cooking system. The BackpackingLight Firelight 550 titanium pot is a great product that I personally use. Just remember that the pot only holds about 18 fluid ounces of water, so obviously it is a pot to boil water, and pour into a different container with your food. In the video he is using a titanium folding spork from BackpackingLight, but at REI, you can get the same item (without the BackpackingLight logo on it) for a better price. The tea light stove is a good option, although I prefer my ESBIT stove.

This cooking system, as he said, weighs only 4.7 ounces. This is just for lightweight and ultralight weight backpackers.

I like my esbit stove too. The tablets stink horribly, but its a easy and light. It leaves a little residue on your pot after, but nothing you can’t just wipe off.

  2. Very good information and style of blogging.

There’s no doubt that I’ll come back on this website at a
later date and find out what exactly else you’ll have
in store! 😉 I’m just planning to see if I just may possibly track down any thing in respect to appetizer recipes!!
